| Long Title: | AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 26 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO NET ENERGY METERING. |
| Synopsis: | “Net energy metering” is a way to credit electricity customers who can generate some (or all) of the electricity they use. Currently the Public Service Commission is required to promulgate rules and regulations that provide for net energy metering for residential and small commercial customers who own and operate an electric generation facility that:
(1) Has a capacity of not more than 25 kilowatts;
(2) Uses solar, wind, hydro or other form of renewable energy as its primary source of fuel;
(3) Is located on the customer’s premises;
(4) Is interconnected and operated in parallel with an electric distribution company’s transmission and distribution facilities; and
(5) Is intended primarily to offset all or part of the customer’s own electricity requirements.
This Act raises that maximum capacity to 2 megawatts.
