Purpose of the Bill : The bill enables the governor to stagger terms of members of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association, adds a licensed medical physician to the Board, adds a third school board member, removes two sections of law no longer necessary, and revises voting procedures to allow a simple majority of a quorum to approve specific motions.
Committee Findings: Deborah Puzzo, staff for the Joint Sunset Committee, explained to the committee that a substitute bill was being drafted to make four technical changes to the original bill. No major concerns were expressed about the bill, and the committee voted to release it with the recognition that a substitute bill would be introduced.
