Purpose of the Bill : This act establishes a presumption that students sixteen and younger who are expelled or suspended pending expulsion by a local school district or charter school are appropriate for placement in an alternative education program.


Committee Findings: Rep. Wagner had concerns about the number of slots currently available for expelled or suspended students in the alternative education program.
