Purpose of the Bill : This Bill eliminates the requirements for a person who has been certified by a physician as being permanently disabled, from having to obtain a physician’s recertification when they renew their special license plate.

Committee Findings: The Department of Motor Vehicles supports this legislation.   A number of permanently disabled individuals find it to be a financial hardship to have to recertify their disability which is classified as permanent.
