Purpose of the Bill : Prior to the passing of this bill, the regulation, operation, and design of school buses was overseen by three state agencies: the Secretary of Education, the State Board of Education and the Director of Motor Vehicles. This bill removes State Board of Education oversight over the design and operation of school buses and corrects inaccurate references to the Director of the Division of Motor Vehicles.
