Purpose of the Bill : This Bill supports local farmers and will help consumers to know that they are drinking fresh milk from Delaware or from this region. It will help them to distinguish milk from ultra pasteurized milk which is heated to a minimum of 280° F for a minimum of two seconds. This allows milk to be shipped to Delaware from Arizona and California as the milk has a shelf life of 30-90 days and has a cooked flavor whereby pasteurized milk has a shelf life of 12- 21 days and retains a better taste. This Act is not mandatory.

Committee Findings: There were no major concerns raised about this legislation.
