Purpose of the Bill : This bill would amend Chapter 9, Title 20 of the Delaware Code by striking Sections 901, 902, and 903. These provisions previously provided funding for the burial expenses of war veterans but are no longer needed based on the legal requirements for the Department of Health and Social Services to provide for the burial of all indigents of Delaware. The federal government provides all military members deployed in combat zones $150,000 in life insurance coverage under the Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance program at no cost to the service member.

Committee Findings: There were no major concerns raised about this bill.
