Purpose of the Bill : This Bill clarifies that when pursuant to dispatch center protocols police officers are sent outside of their jurisdiction, any arrests they may make are presumed valid.


Committee Findings: Kevin Curtis, Chief of the New Castle County Police Department spoke on the bill He explained that the bill affords police officers the same protection when dispatched by a public service answering point as if they were dispatched by their own jurisdiction. He stated that this bill was not initiated from a problem, but was a preventative measure. The committee supported the bill without questions.
