Purpose of the Bill : This Bill amends the definition in the criminal code to include the definition of electronic control device as a dangerous instrument under State law.
Committee Findings: Rep. Booth the bills sponsor stated that this bill will amend the definition in the criminal code to include electrolic control device as a dangerous instrument inorder to place electronic control devices on the same level as mace under State law.
Rep. Wagner along with Rep. Marshall stated concerns that the mere possession of an electronic control device would be banned because with the addition of electronic control device to the list of dangerous instruments the device would become illegal to carry around as well as conceal.
