Purpose of the Bill : The bill clarifies the circumstances of insurers, which cannot to refuse to renew an individual’s policy of homeowner’s insurance policy.


Committee Findings: Rep. Valihura stated that he is unwilling to support the bill until the appeal before the court is dismissed. He argued that the General Assembly should not act when there is a pending appeal before the courts. He encouraged Mr. Denn to dismiss the appeal or wait until the appeal is adjudicated in court. Rep. Viola stated that was vital for the legislature to act on this issue because of the quickly approaching closing date of the legislative session.
