| Long Title: | AN ACT TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF GREENWOOD CHAPTER (109 LAWS OF DELAWARE, VOLUME 68, AS AMENDED) TO DELEGATE TO THE TOWN TAX COLLECTOR THE SAME COLLECTION POWERS, INCLUDING MONITION PROCEEDINGS, AS CONFERRED UPON THE RECEIVER OF TAXES OF SUSSEX COUNTY. |
| Synopsis: | This Act amends the municipal Charter of the Town of Greenwood to delegate to the Town Tax Collector the same powers, remedies and authority for the collection of Town property taxes (including the monition procedure) as are delegated to the Receiver of Taxes for Sussex County. This Act brings the Town of Greenwood tax collection procedures in line with those procedures in common use by Sussex County and most other Delaware municipalities in order to make such procedures more uniform, thereby ensuring greater fairness and efficiency to the process.
