House Bill # 285 w/HA 2, HA 3, HA 4, HA 5, HA 6 |
| Primary Sponsor: | Hudson | Additional Sponsor(s):    Sen. Henry |
| CoSponsors: | Reps. Lavelle, Maier, Plant; Sens. Copeland, Simpson |
| Introduced on : | 01/10/2008 | |
| Long Title: | AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 14 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO CHARTER SCHOOLS AND SAME-GENDER EDUCATION. |
| Synopsis: | Federal anti-discrimination laws now permit single-gender schools because of the evidence, apparent to many educators, that a single-gender environment can be very important to some children. While it may be that the General Assembly which enacted the Charter School Law intended that it would be read as consistent with Federal law, this legislation makes that clear.
