Long Title:AN ACT TO AMEND TITLES 11 AND 16 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO MARRIAGE LICENSES.
Synopsis:This Bill would add a $15 fee on to all certified copies of marriage license/certificates issued in Delaware. The money raised would go to fund domestic violence programs. Domestic violence programs are in need of new sources of funding because of cuts in federal funding of the Violence Against Women Act. Approximately 30 other states have added fees to marriage licenses to pay for domestic violence programs.
