| Long Title: | AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 21 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO COLLISIONS AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT. |
| Synopsis: | This legislation enacts changes to Delaware’s motor vehicle laws relating to collisions and traffic management. It was drafted in accordance with the recommendations of a Safe Quick Clearance committee, whose members included representatives from DelDOT, DNREC, Delaware State Police, Delaware Fire School, Delaware State Fire Chiefs Association, the Delaware Volunteer Fireman Association, the Emergency Responder Safety Institute, the I-95 Corridor Coalition, and Kent County Emergency Management. The changes are also in line with the efforts of other I-95 Corridor Coalition states. In addition to generally substituting the term “accident” with the term “collision,” the new law applies a similar approach to collision and traffic management previously chosen by the General Assembly for certain I-95 construction projects (sometimes called “Clear the Road” legislation).
