SENATE BILL NO. 27

AN ACT TO AMEND ARTICLE XV OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE RELATING TO MARRIAGE

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE BY A TWO-THIRDS MAJORITY:

Section 1. Amend Article XV of the Constitution of the State of Delaware by adding thereto the following:

Section 11. A marriage between a man and a woman is the only legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this state.

SYNOPSIS

This is the first leg of a Constitutional Amendment to establish marriage between one man and one woman as the only legally recognized union in the State of Delaware.
