SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

SENATE BILL NO. 292

AMEND Senate Bill No. 292 by deleting lines 42 and 43 in their entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“ (1) “Health-care practitioner” means an individual licensed under Title 24 as any of the following:

a. A physician.

b. An advance practice registered nurse.

c. A physician assistant. ”.

SYNOPSIS

This amendments adds physician assistants to the definition of "health-care practitioner" so that they have the same immunity protection as physicians and advance practice registered nurses when prescribing or dispensing an opioid antagonist.
