HOUSE BILL NO. 382

AN ACT TO RENAME THE DELAWARE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION WELCOME CENTER ON INTERSTATE 95 LOCATED AT 530 JFK MEMORIAL HIGHWAY NEWARK, DE 19702 IN HONOR OF THE BIDENS.

WHEREAS, Interstate 95 is a major component of the U.S. transportation network; and

WHEREAS, Interstate 95 stretches almost 2,000 miles all along the Eastern Seaboard; from as far south as Florida to as far north as Maine; and

WHEREAS, Delaware’s Interstate 95 Welcome Center provides travelers from across the U.S. the opportunity to both recuperate from their long journey and also learn more about the State of Delaware; and

WHEREAS, the Bidens have proudly and humbly served the people of Delaware and U.S. in a number of official capacities; and

WHEREAS, the Bidens have promoted all of the wonderful qualities and aspects of the State of Delaware as unofficial ambassadors;

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:

Section 1. The Delaware Department of Transportation Welcome Center on Interstate 95 at 530 JFK Memorial Highway, Newark, Delaware, is hereby renamed the “Biden Welcome Center.”

SYNOPSIS

This Act has the effect of renaming the Delaware Department of Transportation Welcome Center on Interstate 95 at 530 JFK Memorial Highway, Newark, Delaware as the "Biden Welcome Center" in honor of the Biden family. This gesture is made because of the exemplary service to the State of Delaware the Bidens have provided, and because of their lifelong promotion of this State.
