SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

SENATE BILL NO. 148

AMEND Senate Bill No. 148 by deleting the underline on lines 3 through 72.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 148 on line 88 by inserting the following after “ projects ”:

It shall also facilitate the consistent engagement of impacted communities to strengthen and inform its work.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 148 on line 111 by deleting “ The ” before “ Chair ” and inserting in lieu thereof “ A ”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 148 on line 112 by deleting “ Executive Director ” and inserting in lieu thereof “ President ”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 148 by inserting after line 114 “ 13. A representative of the Wilmington Center for Education Equity and Public Policy; ” and renumbering accordingly.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 148 on line 119 by deleting “ One additional community leader ” and inserting in lieu thereof “ Two additional community leaders ”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 148 on line 121 by deleting “ and the Director of the Office of Innovation and Improvement ” and inserting in lieu thereof “ , the Secretary of Finance (or designee), and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (or designee) ”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 148 by deleting lines 128 and 129 in their entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following:

(n). The legislative representative appointed by the President Pro Tem of the Senate shall be one co-chair, and the Governor shall appoint the other co-chair from among the members of the Consortium appointed pursuant to subsections h(2) through (17).

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 148 on line 139 by deleting “ and ”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 148 on line 140 by adding “ , and the City of Wilmington ” between “ House ” and “ at ”.

SYNOPSIS

This amendment makes technical changes to the Bill. It clarifies who shall be members of the Consortium and how the co-chairs are appointed. Finally, it requires that the Consortium submit reports to the City of Wilmington.
