HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 63

EXTENDING THE REPORTING DATE FOR THE TASK FORCE TO HELP WITH THE RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION OF VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS FOR THE DELAWARE VOLUNTEER FIRE SERVICE.

WHEREAS, the task force for the Recruitment and Retention of Volunteer Firefighters for the Delaware Volunteer Fire Service (“Task Force”) was established under House Concurrent Resolution No. 50 of the 150 th General Assembly to study the recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters; and

WHEREAS, the Task Force was directed to issue a final report to all members of the General Assembly by January 1, 2020; and

WHEREAS, the Task Force has met regularly; and

WHEREAS, the Task Force has been reviewing and discussing recommendations concerning the recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters; and

WHEREAS, the Task Force needs additional time to complete the final recommendations; and

WHEREAS, in order to appropriately conclude the Task Force’s work, the Task Force’s final report deadline must be modified.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 150 th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the Senate concurring therein, that the date by which the final report of the task force for the Recruitment and Retention of Volunteer Firefighters for the Delaware Volunteer Fire service is to be extended to June 1, 2020.

SYNOPSIS

This House Concurrent Resolution extends the date by which the report of the task force for the Recruitment and Retention of Volunteer Firefighters for the Delaware Volunteer Fire Service.
