HOUSE BILL NO. 195
AMEND House Bill No. 195 on line 37 by deleting “ to the Attorney General ”.
FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 195 on line 41 by inserting after “ regulations. ” and before “ The Council ” the following: “ The Council shall include the Delaware State Troopers Association and the Delaware Fraternal Order of Police in discussions concerning regulations detailing mandatory standards for the use of body worn cameras by police officers. ”
FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 195 on line 44 by inserting after “ after ” and before “ formal ” the following: “ review by the Delaware State Troopers Association and the Delaware Fraternal Order of Police and ”.
FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 195 by deleting lines 52 and 53 in their entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
“ (a) In accordance with the regulations established in §§ 8404, 4321, and 9003 of this title, a police officer, a probation and parole officer of the Department of Correction assigned to a law enforcement task force, and an employee of the Department of Services for Children, ".
FURTHER AMEND House bill No. 195 by deleting line 56 in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
“ (b) A police officer, a probation and parole officer of the Department of Correction assigned to a law enforcement task force, and an ”.
FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 195 on line 59 by “ § 8404 ” as it appears therein and inserting in lieu thereof “ §§ 8404, 4321, and 9003 of this title ”.
SYNOPSIS
This amendment requires the Council to include the Delaware State Troopers Association and the Delaware Fraternal Order of Police in discussions concerning the regulations for the use of body worn cameras by police officers and requires that both review the regulations prior to formal approval of the Council. This amendment also clarifies that body worn cameras must be worn by a probation and parole officer of the Department of Correction assigned to a law enforcement task force.
