AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 29 OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY RELATING TO TERM LIMITS FOR ITS MEMBERS. |
Section 1. Amend Title 29 of the Delaware Code by adding a new §807 to read as follows:
Ҥ807. Term Limits.
No member of the General Assembly shall serve more than twelve (12) consecutive years in the same elected office.”
Section 2. This Act shall become effective at the end of the General Assembly in which it is enacted. Senate terms that will not expire twelve (12) years thereafter may be served to completion of that last term.
SYNOPSIS
This bill establishes 12 year term limits for members of the General Assembly. The bill allows completion of Senate terms if the 12 year limit falls mid term. |
