CHAPTER 221

Of Wills.

AN ACT MAKING THE RECORD OF CERTAIN WILLS IN THE REGISTER OF WILLS OFFICE FOR NEW CASTLE COUNTY, STATE OF DELAWARE, EVIDENCE.

Whereas, the "Division of Records," has caused to be transcribed in two books which are denominated as Miscellaneous Will Records Volumes One and Two, now in the office of the Register of Wills, in and for New Castle County, at Wilmington, certain wills and ancient papers relating thereto, dated prior to the year, A. D. 1800, which wills and ancient papers had been on file in said office but not of record therein, Now therefore

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:

Section 1. That the Register of Wills for New Castle County, is hereby authorized and directed to compare the record of the said wills and ancient papers with the originals now in said office and if found to be correct, he shall so certify at the end of each book of said Miscellaneous Will Records Volumes I and 2, and after the making of said certificates the said records of the said wills and ancient papers or an office copy thereof shall be sufficient evidence to both real and personal estate in any case the original will or ancient paper would be admitted in evidence.
