CHAPTER 284 - MOTOR VEHICLES - ISSUANCE OF DUPLICATE LICENSE CERTIFICATES
AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 165 OF THE REVISED CODE OF DELAWARE, 1935, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES BY PROVIDING FOR ISSUANCE OF DUPLICATE LICENSE CERTIFICATES AND FOR EXAMINATION BY THE MOTOR VEHICLE COMMISSIONER AND FOR FEES FOR THE ISSUANCE OF SAID DUPLICATE LICENSE CERTIFICATES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:
Section 1. That Chapter 165 of the Revised Code of Delaware, 1935, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out and repealing all of 5601 Section 63 of said Chapter, and by inserting in lieu thereof the following:
5601. Sec. 63. Duplicate License Certificates; Examination by the Motor Vehicle Commissioner; Fees for the Issuance of said Duplicate License Certificates.
(e) In the event that any annual or permanent operator's or chauffeur's license issued under the provisions of this Chapter shall be lost or destroyed the person to whom the same was issued may apply to the Department for the issuance of a duplicate or substitute annual or permanent license upon executing such forms as may be required by the Department and upon furnishing proof satisfactory to the Department that such license has been lost or destroyed.
(f) Upon receipt of the application and the fee hereinafter provided, the Motor Vehicle Commissioner of this State may, at his discretion, require an examination of such applicant in accordance with the provisions of Section 59 of this Chapter.
(g) Each application for the issuance of a duplicate annual or permanent license certificate shall be accompanied by a fee of One Dollar ($1.00).
(h) This Act shall become effective on July 1, 1945.
