SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1
AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 14 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR HIGHER EDUCATION FOR THOSE SERVING IN THE DELAWARE NATIONAL GUARD.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE :
Section 1. Amend §3480(a), Title 14 of the Delaware Code by adding the following sentence at the end of subsection (3) thereof:
"State-supported institutions shall charge members the in-state rate for tuition and fees and treat members as an in-state applicant or student regardless of the members’ state of residence.".
Section 2. Amend §3480(a), Title 14 of the Delaware Code by deleting the phrase "or bachelor’s degree" as it appears in subsection (4) and inserting the following in lieu thereof:
", bachelor’s degree or master’s degree".
Section 3. Amend §3480(a), Title 14 of the Delaware Code by deleting the phrase "or a bachelor’s degree" as it appears in subsection (5) and inserting the following in lieu thereof:
", bachelor’s degree or master’s degree".
Section 5. Amend §3480, Title 14 of the Delaware Code by adding the following sentence at the end of subsection "(d)" thereof:
"If funding is not appropriated to fully support the program, master’s degree reimbursement will be reduced prior to any reductions to members applying for funds to obtain an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree.".
