HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2

TO

HOUSE BILL NO. 291

Amend House Bill No. 291 on line 6 by deleting “ name and mailing address name, mailing address, primary employer name, and job title ” as it appears therein and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“name and mailing address”.

FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 291 by deleting lines 31 and 32 in their entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following:

“ contribution under this title must return the full amount of the unlawful contribution to the donor. ”.

SYNOPSIS

This Amendment deletes the requirement for a donor's employer and job title to be included in a political committee's financial report to the Department of Elections. This Amendment also requires a party reporting a campaign finance violation, who has knowingly accepted an unlawful contribution, to return the unlawful contribution to the donor as opposed to sending it to the State Treasurer for deposit into the General Fund.
