DELAWARE STATE SENATE

SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

SENATE BILL NO. 251

AMEND Senate Bill No. 251 by inserting before line 1 the following and redesignating accordingly:

“Section 1. Amend Title 14 of the Delaware Code by making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions as shown by underline as follows:

Chapter 87A. Delaware Veterinary Medicine Education Advisory Council. ”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 251 on line 26 by deleting “ 12 ” and inserting “ 13 ” in lieu thereof.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 251 by inserting between lines 43 and 44 the following:

“ (12) One representative of the State Board of Veterinary Medicine, appointed by the Governor. The Governor may consider potential nominees from a list that the State Board of Veterinary Medicine provides. ”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 251 by deleting line 54 in its entirety and redesignating accordingly.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 251 on lines 57 and 58 by deleting “ The chair may not vote unless a tiebreaking vote is needed. ”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 251 by inserting between line 100 and 101 the following and redesignating accordingly:

“Section 5. Amend Chapter 87, Title 14 of the Delaware Code by making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions as shown by underline as follows:

Chapter 87. Delaware Institute of Veterinary Medical Education [Repealed.] ”.

SYNOPSIS

This Amendment adds a representative of the State Board of Veterinary Medicine to the Delaware Veterinarian Medicine Education Advisory Council. Because the addition of a member gives the Advisory Council an odd number of members, this Amendment also removes language that prohibited the Advisory Council's chair from voting unless a tiebreaking vote was needed. This Amendment also corrects a technical error.
