SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

SENATE BILL NO. 310

AMEND Senate Bill No. 310 on line 40 by inserting the following after “Plan”:

  “ and Climate Action Plan ”

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 310 by deleting line 43 in its entirety and by inserting in lieu thereof:

“recommending actions and policies to the Governor and General Assembly in response to identified issues.”

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 310 by inserting the following at the end of line 54:

“ Public Service Commission-regulated, municipal, and cooperative public utilities; ”

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 310 on line 55 by deleting the following:

“electricity transmission; electricity distribution; electricity generation;”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 310 on lines 55 and 56 by deleting “municipal utilities;”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 310 on line 56 by inserting “ and heating ” before “ fuels; ”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 310 line 57 by inserting “ , public health, ” after “environmental”.

SYNOPSIS

This amendment accomplishes the following: a) Provides for the Governor’s Energy Advisory Council to make recommendations to the State Energy Office about updates to the Climate Action Plan; b) Specifies that the Council is responsible for making recommendations regarding actions and policies on energy issues to the Governor and General Assembly; and c) Provides that the Council members include representation from constituencies that include Public Service Commission-regulated, municipal, and cooperative public utilities, as well as public health and heating fuels interests
