HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 101
RECOGNIZING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER 2022 AS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH.
WHEREAS, breast cancer has impacted many individuals and families throughout Delaware and the nation; and
WHEREAS, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among females in the U.S. and Delaware, with 1,010 anticipated new breast cancer diagnoses among Delawareans in 2022; and
WHEREAS, numerous local and national organizations work tirelessly to connect individuals with breast cancer screening and treatment services; and
WHEREAS, thousands of Delawareans will receive screenings, attend various outreach events, health fairs, and breast health presentations in 2022; and
WHEREAS, women are encouraged to inquire with their healthcare provider about genetic or hereditary risk factors to breast cancer; and
WHEREAS, we recognize survivors for their incredible strength, we stand with those currently fighting, and we honor the memory of those who have lost their battle with breast cancer; and
WHEREAS, we thank Delaware’s health organizations for their leadership in the fight against breast cancer.
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 151st General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the Senate concurring therein, that October is recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the General Assembly calls upon citizens, government agencies, and others to raise awareness and support related to breast cancer so that Delawareans may live longer and healthier lives.

This Concurrent Resolution recognizes the month of October 2022 as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
