AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 14 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO STUDENT DISCIPLINE REFERRALS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:

Section 1. Amend Chapter 16, Title 14 of the Delaware Code by making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions as shown by underline as follows:

§1608. Referrals to school-based problem-solving team.

Once a student receives 2 out-of-school suspensions in a school semester, or trimester, the student must be referred to the school’s school-based problem-solving team, located in the school the student is attending, for both academic and non-academic intervention including any recommendations based on the team’s assessment of the student.

SYNOPSIS

This Act requires that any student who has had 2 out-of-school suspensions in a school semester, or trimester, be referred to the school-based problem-solving team, located in the school the student is attending, for both academic and non-academic intervention, including any recommendations based on the team's assessment of the student.
