SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

SENATE BILL NO. 149

AMEND Senate Bill No. 149 by inserting the following after line 5 and before line 6:

“Section 1A. Amend § 5402, Title 15 of the Delaware Code by making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions as shown by underline as follows:

§ 5402. Early voting; designated locations.

(a) The Except as provided by subsection (b) of this section, the State Election Commissioner shall designate locations at which a qualified voter, duly registered, may vote in person during at least 10 days before an election, up to and including the Saturday and Sunday immediately before an election.

(b) The requirement under subsection (a) of this section that early voting locations be open the Sunday immediately before an election does not apply to the presidential primary election date established under § 3181(a) of this title. ”.

SYNOPSIS

This Amendment exempts the presidential primary election date established by Senate Bill No. 149 from the requirement that early voting locations be open the Sunday before an election.
