HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

HOUSE BILL NO. 154

AMEND House Bill No. 154 by adding after line 163 and before line 164 the following:

“ (3) Any nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to preventing and addressing insurance crime. ”

FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 154 by deleting lines 218 through 220 in their entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“ (5) Obtain a list of the categories of third parties to which the controller has disclosed the consumer’s personal data. ”

SYNOPSIS

This amendment provides that nonprofit organizations which are dedicated exclusively to preventing and addressing insurance crime are not covered by the Act. This amendment also provides that a consumer has the right to obtain a list of the categories of third parties to which the controller has disclosed the consumer’s personal data.
