SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

SENATE BILL NO. 145

AMEND Senate Bill No. 145 by deleting lines 24 through 27 in their entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“ (1) For a respondent with 4 through 14 employees, $50,000.

(2) For a respondent with 15 through 100 employees, $75,000.

(3) For a respondent with 101 through 200 employees, $175,000.

(4) For a respondent with 201 through 500 employees, $300,000.

(5) For a respondent with more than 500 employees, $500,000. ”.

SYNOPSIS

This Amendment revises the limits on damage awards by doing all of the following:

1. Keeps the limit for respondents with 4 to 14 employees the same as current law.

2. Establishes a new category of respondents with 15 through 100 employees.

3. Lowers the amount the limits are increased by this Act for respondents with more than 15 employees.
