HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

HOUSE BILL NO. 333

AMEND House Bill No. 333 on line 24 by deleting “ 17 ” as it appears therein and inserting in lieu thereof “ 21 ”.

FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 333 after line 33 and before line 34 by inserting the following:

i. The Secretary of the Department of Health and Social Services.

j. The Secretary of the Department of Safety and Homeland Security.

k. The State Election Commissioner.

l. The Executive Director of the Government Efficiency and Accountability Review Board. ”.

FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 333 by deleting line 36 in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

b. One member representing private sector entities with experience in developing or implementing AI. ”.

FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 333 by deleting line 40 in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

b. One member representing private sector entities with experience in developing or implementing AI. ”.

FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 333 by deleting line 45 in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

c. One member representing private sector entities with experience in developing or implementing AI. ”.

FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 333 on line 52 by inserting “ the ” after “ within ” and before “ Department ” therein.

FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 333 on line 55 by inserting “ the ” after “ of ” and before “ Department ” therein.

SYNOPSIS

This Amendment adds 4 additional members to the Delaware AI Commission: (1) The Secretary of the Department of Health and Social Services; (2) The Secretary of the Department of Safety and Homeland Security; (3) The State Election Commissioner; and (4) The Executive Director of GEAR. It also clarifies that members appointed to the commission from the private sector may be individuals that represent private sector entities with experience in developing or implementing AI.

Finally, this Amendment makes technical, nonsubstantive changes to conform existing law to the standards of the Delaware Legislative Drafting Manual.
