HOUSE BILL NO. 345
AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 11 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSES TO CARRY CONCEALED DEADLY WEAPONS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:
Section 1. Amend § 1441, Title 11 of the Delaware Code by making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions as shown by underline as follows and redesignating accordingly:
§ 1441. License to carry concealed deadly weapons.
(b) The Prothonotary of the county in which any applicant for a license files the same shall cause notice of every such application to be published once, at least 10 days before the next term of the Superior Court. The publication shall be made in a newspaper of general circulation published in the county. In making such publication it shall be sufficient for the Prothonotary to do the same as a list in alphabetical form stating therein simply the name and residence of each applicant respectively. [ Repealed. ]
SYNOPSIS
This Act removes the requirement that the name and residence of each person that applies for a license to carry a concealed deadly weapon be published in a newspaper.
