HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

HOUSE BILL NO. 330

AMEND House Bill No. 330 on line 8 by inserting after “ guardian ” and before the semicolon therein the following: “ , or unless the person under 21 years of age is an active member of the Armed Forces of the United States or a qualified law-enforcement officer as defined in § 1441A of this Title ”

FURTHER AMEND House Bill 330 after line 10 and before line 11 by inserting the following:

“ For purposes of this section, a firearm means any device designed to be used as a weapon from which a projectile may be expelled through the barrel by force of any explosion or other form of combustion .”

SYNOPSIS

This amendment clarifies that the changes made to Title 11, Section 1448 do not apply to an active member of the Armed Forces of the United States or a qualified law-enforcement officer. This amendment also limits the definition of firearm in order to exclude any type of bow.
