SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

SENATE SUBSTITUTE NO. 1

FOR

SENATE BILL NO. 48

AMEND Senate Substitute No. 1 for Senate Bill No. 48 by deleting lines 91 through 95 in their entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“Section 3. This Act is effective upon enactment and is to be implemented as follows:

(1) Upon the establishment of apprenticeship and journeyman craft training programs in each county for the crafts under § 6962(c)(13) of Title 29.

(2) Upon promulgation of final regulations under this Act and the Secretary of the Department of Labor’s notice to the Registrar of Regulations, published in the Register of Regulations, that the contingencies under paragraphs (1) and (2) of this section have been fulfilled.”.

SYNOPSIS

This Amendment makes the craft training requirement effective upon the establishment of craft training programs in each county.
