SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

SENATE BILL NO. 94

AMEND Senate Bill No. 94 by deleting line 37 in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“ (a) A public body shall allow a member of the public body with a disability to attend a meeting of the public body through the use ”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 94 on line 39 by deleting “ 6. ” between “ Title ” and “ A ” and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“ 6, unless it imposes an undue burden. ”.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 94 by deleting lines 42 through 43 in their entirety.

SYNOPSIS

This Amendment clarifies the requirement public bodies allow a member of the public body to participate through an electronic means of communication as a reasonable accommodation and that the undue burden exception under disability law applies to all public bodies.
