DELAWARE STATE SENATE
151st GENERAL ASSEMBLY
SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 72
RECOGNIZING MARCH 4, 2022 AS "DELAWARE GIVING DAY."
WHEREAS, Do More 24 Delaware is a local movement that brings together nonprofit organizations to encourage
the community at large to contribute to the causes and organizations closest to their hearts; and
WHEREAS, there are numerous nonprofit organizations that zealously advocate across our state and make a
tremendous impact on various sectors of our communities in Delaware; and
WHEREAS, Do More 24 Delaware is intended to be a unique giving holiday for nonprofits serving Delaware; and
WHEREAS, the goal of Do More 24 Delaware is to ignite a culture of community-wide giving to allow everyone
to be a philanthropist; and
WHEREAS, Do More 24 Delaware seeks to empower the next generation of donors to be inspired to give to non-
profits and causes they are interested in and passionate about; and
WHEREAS, Do More 24 Delaware is attempting to make the greatest impact together as a community from
March 3, 2022 at 6 pm through March 4, 2022 at 6 pm; and
WHEREAS, during this period, any nonprofit in Delaware that raises over $5 will share in at least $50,000 in prize money to help advance their respective causes; and
WHEREAS, nonprofits make an enormous impact on the social well-being, countless philanthropic causes, and
serve the general common good of our State.
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 151st General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House of Representatives concurring therein, that March 4, 2022, is recognized as “Delaware Giving Day.”
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of the Senate and the House of Representatives send their profound gratitude to the various nonprofits and the men, women, and children who work countless hours to ensure the success of all our nonprofits that make the State of Delaware a better place for our communities.
SYNOPSIS
This Senate Concurrent Resolution designates March 4, 2022 as "Delaware Giving Day."
