HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1

SENATE SUBSTITUTE NO. 2

SENATE BILL NO. 1

AMEND Senate Substitute No. 2 for Senate Bill No. 1 by inserting after line 40 and before line 41 the following:

3. Any business that is closed in its entirety for 30 consecutive days or more per year.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Substitute No. 2 for Senate Bill No. 1 by inserting after line 656 and before line 657 the following:

§ 3724. Departmental Report.

The Department shall, before July 1, 2029, submit a report to the General Assembly and the Governor on the family and medical leave insurance program. The report shall include information and data on program usage, program efficiency, finances, employee and employer program experience and feedback, program impact on recruitment, retention, cost, operations, worker morale, and productivity, and recommendations for program improvements.

SYNOPSIS

This amendment exempts any business that is closed in its entirety for 30 consecutive days or more per year. This amendment also adds the requirement that, before July 1, 2029, the Department submit a report the General Assembly and the Governor on the family and medical leave insurance program, including factors such as information and data on program usage, program efficiency, and recommendations for program improvements.
