SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 27

 

HONORING DAN EINHAUS, A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER

WHEREAS, Dan Einhaus, is an emergency medical technician and has been a volunteer firefighter with the Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company in Newark for a year and a half; and

WHEREAS, on the morning of Tuesday, April 11, 2000, Dan arrived at 202 Meriden Drive in Newark, Delaware with the Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company, and found the home ablaze; and

WHEREAS, upon learning that a woman, Lisa Clemens, was still inside the blazing home, Dan Einhaus along with another firefighter, Tripp Wagner, climbed a ladder to the second floor, broke a window and climbed into the house; and

WHEREAS, to escape the worst of the heat and smoke Dan and Tripp crawled on their hands and knees until Lisa Clemens was located lying on the floor of the bedroom; and

WHEREAS, firefighters downstairs were battling the flames, trying to clear a path to allow Dan and Tripp to bring Lisa Clemens downstairs; and

WHEREAS, in less than five minutes after arriving on the scene, Dan assisted Tripp in bringing Lisa Clemens through the front door to safety.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 140th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House of Representatives concurring therein, that Dan Einhaus is hereby honored and commended for his valiant and courageous rescue of Lisa Clemens.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks of the Delaware General Assembly are extended to Dan Einhaus for the time and dedication he has given to his community as a volunteer firefighter.

BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that a suitably prepared copy of this Resolution be presented to Dan Einhaus.

SYNOPSIS

This Resolution honors Dan Einhaus, a volunteer firefighter, for risking his life to rescue a woman from a burning house.
