TO
HOUSE BILL NO. 46
AMEND House Bill No. 46 by deleting the words "felony or misdemeanor relating to domestic violence" appearing on lines 4 and 5, and by substituting in lieu thereof the following language:
"domestic violence felony or misdemeanor, as long as such offense was committed by a member of the victim’s family as defined by § 901(9) of Title 10, regardless of the state of residence of the parties; by a former spouse of the victim; by a person who cohabited with the victim at the time of the offense; or by a person with a child in common with the victim".
This amendment clarifies the intent of the sponsor to limit the scope of the legislation to domestic violence felonies and misdemeanors committed by members of the victim's family, by a former spouse, by a person who cohabitates with a victim or by a person with a child in common with the victim.
