HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 66

 

DEDICATING MAY 4, 2004 AS TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY.



 


WHEREAS, teachers are professionals who are dedicated to educating children and young adults so they can become knowledgeable, productive members of society;

WHEREAS,  the education of Delaware’s children and young adults has been a high priority of the Delaware Legislature;

WHEREAS,  teachers dedicate many hours of their time to improve the quality of education in the State of Delaware;

WHEREAS,  the week of May 2, 2004 is National Teacher Appreciation Week; and

WHEREAS,  the recognition of one day during the week of May 2, 2004 as Teacher Appreciation Day will encourage students, parents and society to show their support and respect for the dedication of all teachers.

NOW THEREFORE:

 

BE IT ENACTED by the House and concurrently with the Senate of the 142nd General Assembly.

BE IT RESOLVED that May 4, 2004 is hereby designated as Teacher Appreciation Day.


SYNOPSIS

This resolution creates May 4, 2004 as Teacher Appreciation Day.
