AN ACT PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE II, § 2 OF THE DELAWARE CONSTITUTION OF 1897, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE SENATE AND THEIR TERMS OF OFFICE. |
BE IT ENACTED
BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF
Section 1. Amend Article II, § 2 of the Delaware Constitution of 1897, as amended, by deleting the numbers two (“2”) and four (“4”) wherever they appear therein and replacing thereto with the numbers four (“4”) and six (“6”).
Section 2. This Act shall become effective for all terms of office commencing with the general election in November of 2006.

The Bill is the first leg of a Constitutional Amendment to change the term limits for the members of the House of Representatives and the Senate from two (2) and four (4) respectively to four (4) and six (6) respectively. |
