HOUSE BILL NO. 122 |
|
AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 30 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE ANNUAL LICENSE FEE FOR TRAVEL AGENCIES. |
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:
Section 1. Amend §2301(a)(26), Title 30 of the Delaware Code by inserting "up to" immediately before "$225" and by adding the following sentence at the end of paragraph (26):
"The annual license fee is computed by assessing $75 per individual travel agent employed by the agency, up to a maximum of $225.".
SYNOPSIS
|
During this time of economic hardship, travel agencies have been forced to lay off employees. Many of these laid-off employees choose to re-establish their careers as sole owners of new travel agencies in a struggling industry. This bill gives sole practitioner agencies a break on the travel agency annual license fee by reducing their fee from $225 to $75. The fee is computed by assessing $75 per individual travel agent employed by the agency, up to a maximum of $225 per year for an agency with 3 or more employees. |
