CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 66 |
ESTABLISHING A BLUE RIBBON TASK FORCE TO INVESTIGATE AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS THERETO AS TO THE FEASIBILITY OF DEVELOPING A C2H6O ETHANOL PLANT AND DELIVERY SYSTEM WITHIN THE STATE OF DELAWARE. |
WHEREAS, it has become painfully obvious for Delawareans as they fill up their gas tanks as to the increasing prices that they must pay for petroleum products; and
WHEREAS, the Federal government has not taken the lead on coming up with alternatives to keep the price of petroleum products stable; and
WHEREAS, it is incumbent upon the legislature to look at all feasible alternatives that may occur within the State to keep the costs of transportation and home heating at an affordable price for its citizens; and
WHEREAS, agriculture is still a primary and expanding industry in the State; and
WHEREAS, the opportunity exists to research the feasibility of developing a C2H6O ethanol manufacturing and delivery system within the State, leading towards independence from foreign fuel sources.
NOW, THEREFORE:

IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 143rd General
Assembly of the State of
(1) Three (3) members of the House appointed by the Speaker of the House, one (1) to serve as Chairperson;
(2) Three (3) members of the Senate appointed by the Senate President Pro Tempore;
(3) One (1) member of the Farm Bureau appointed by the President of the Delaware Farm Bureau;
(3) The Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control or designee; and
(4) The Secretary of the Department of Agriculture or designee.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that staffing will be provided by the House of Representatives.
