HOUSE BILL NO. 356

 

AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 11 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO TERRORISTIC THREATENING.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE (Two-thirds of all members elected to each house thereof concurring therein):

 


                Section 1.  Amend §621, Title 11 of the Delaware Code by adding a new subsection (a)(4) to read as follows:

"(4) The person threatens through the use of electronic communication, including publication in internet chat rooms, to commit any crime likely to result in death or serious injury to person or property."

Section 2.  Amend §621(b), Title 11 of the Delaware Code by deleting the phrase "paragraph (a)(1)" as it appears throughout the first sentence and inserting in lieu thereof the phrase "paragraph (a)(1) or (a)(4)."


 

 

SYNOPSIS

This bill ensures that terroristic threats made by means of the internet can be prosecuted.
