HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 85

 

 DIRECTING THE STATE VETERINARIAN TO INVESTIGATE USES OF CHEMICAL TREATED SALT LICKS TO CONTROL THE DEER POPULATION.



 


                WHEREAS, current regulations have been unable to control the deer population; and

                WHEREAS, an uncontrolled deer population is dangerous to public health and the environment, especially agricultural crops; and

                WHEREAS, there are potential methods which could control deer population that are non-lethal.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 143rd General Assembly of the State of Delaware that  the State Veterinarian is directed to investigate the feasibility of chemical treated salt licks in order to prevent deer reproduction.
