SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 14 |
COMMENDING THE CLASS OF 2006-2007 EAGLE SCOUTS FOR HAVING ATTAINED THE HIGHEST RANK ONE CAN EARN IN THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA |
WHEREAS, only two percent of the young men who join Boy Scouts of America become Eagle Scouts; and
WHEREAS, to earn this distinct honor, a young man must fulfill requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor preparedness, as well as advance through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, and Life; and
WHEREAS, to qualify for the rank of Eagle Scout, a young man must earn twenty-one Merit Badges, including First Aid, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Communications, Personal Fitness, Emergency Preparedness/Lifesaving, Environmental Sciences, Personal Management, Swimming/Hiking/Camping; and
WHEREAS, a young man’s achievement of Eagle Scout carries with it a special significance both within Scouting and to the greater world beyond as he enters higher education, business or industry, and the greater community; and
WHEREAS, the following young men have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, joining the likes of former President Gerald Ford, the Honorable Sam Nunn, Neil Armstrong, Captain James Lovell, and Steven Spielberg:

IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 144th General Assembly of the State
of
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon passage, a copy of this resolution shall be given to each Eagle Scout.
SYNOPSIS
This Resolution honors the class of 2006-2007 Eagle Scouts for having attained the highest rank one can earn in the Boy Scouts of America. |
