HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO HOUSE BILL NO. 76 |

AMEND House Bill No. 76 by redesignating definitions “(d)” and “(e)” on lines 50 and 51 as “(e)” and “(f)” respectively, and striking lines 45 through 49 and substituting in lieu thereof the following new definitions:
“(c) ‘Clone a human embryo’ or ‘cloning a human embryo’ means any production of a human zygote by any means other than fusion of a human sperm and human ovum (egg).
(d) A ‘human zygote’ means any human entity with the capacity to grow into a human blastocyst, given the proper environment.”.
FURTHER AMEND House Bill No. 76 by striking lines 55 through 56 in their entirety.

This Amendment clarifies the definition of cloning a human embryo to be any production of a human zygote by any means other than fusion of a human sperm and a human ovum (egg). |
