Matthews DESCRIPTION: AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 17 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO
SNOW REMOVAL.

ASSUMPTIONS:
1.
Effective
upon the signature of the Governor.
2.
This
Act would allow certain communities to request state reimbursement for the
plowing of school feeder roads within their developments, after snow events of
two to four inches. Communities must be
in the snow reimbursement program with the Delaware Department of
Transportation. Snow events of four
inches and over are already covered for reimbursement.
3.
The
Department estimates the fiscal impact of this Act will be $11,000 per snow
event. There are thirty-four schools
with a total of 8.33 miles of feeder roads that will be impacted by this Act
and they are all located within New Castle County.
Transportation
Trust Fund Cost:
Fiscal Year 2016 $11,000 per eligible snow event
Fiscal Year 2017 $11,000 per eligible snow event
Fiscal Year 2018 $11,000 per eligible snow event
